When local stories meet trusted science, community engagement becomes truly impactful.

I recently completed the Climate Stories Ambassadors training, which focuses on using storytelling to foster dialogue, understanding, and connection around climate-related issues. Designed for educators, scientists, and community leaders, the program emphasizes listening to lived experiences and translating climate science into narratives that are meaningful at the local level.

Climate Stories Ambassadors help elevate community voices and offer practical tools to strengthen partnerships, public events, and inclusive engagement efforts.

To take this work a step further, personal stories are most powerful when paired with clear, credible scientific information. That’s where AAAS SciLine comes in.

SciLine provides evidence-based reporting resources, including explainers, toolkits, webinars, and guides designed to help non-expert audiences understand complex science. These resources support accurate, accessible communication and help ground community stories in a trusted scientific context.

Together, Climate Stories Ambassadors and SciLine offer a powerful combination. Personal stories create connection, while trusted science provides clarity and credibility. For LSEN members, these tools can work hand in hand to connect community experiences with reliable scientific evidence and strengthen local engagement.
