    Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share an upcoming webinar on youth mental health and suicide prevention.

The statistics are alarming. Today's teens face higher rates of mental health challenges and reported suicidal thoughts than any generation in decades. In 2024, 2.6 million adolescents ages 12 to 17 had serious thoughts of suicide, and 700,000 attempted suicide. This is not just a trend. It is a call to action for lawmakers across the country.

The Council of State Governments and the AAAS Center for Scientific Evidence in Public Issues are hosting an essential webinar where leading experts will translate research into tangible strategies, including:

    • Scientific insights into the unique challenges facing the developing adolescent mind

    • Identifying key risk factors for teen suicide

    • Steps for supporting effective, evidence-based prevention programs and actions policymakers can take to build a stronger support system for youth

Featuring Dr. Matthew K. Nock, Harvard University.
