This April, let’s reflect on how trust is built in community-engaged science. Through the AAAS Trust(ed) Scientists Project, members are practicing simple yet powerful skills such as listening, thoughtful introductions, and “showing up” in community spaces.
These practices are directly aligned with the goals of the Local Science Engagement Network (LSEN), strengthening relationships that make science more accessible, relevant, and trusted. What stands out is how intentional, small actions can shape long-term trust and collaboration across communities.
