Last month, as part of the Trusted Scientists Project, I challenged you to listen in at your local group or event. This month, your task is a bit different, more focused on how you can sustain yourself so you can continue to show up for your local community.
We live in a cacophony of information and stress. The path of least resistance is to stop participating when we feel our point of view isn't prevailing, and yet, in every crisis there is an opportunity. However in order to take advantage of the opportunity a crisis presents we have to be able to sustain ourselves until we can intervene (and while we intervene).
Here's my suggestion for sustaining your work in the current era: do something creative and playful and frivolous that doesn't need to be polished to meet anyone else's expectations. You can do it for yourself or in community. Both will help relieve stress. As an added bonus, if you participate in a creative practice or project in community you get to enjoy a pretty neat benefit - it's been found that people are more open to connecting and being vulnerable when creating which can pave our way to building trust.
What creative practice can you take steps towards pursuing today? Let us know what sustains you below!
