    As scientists and communicators, many of us are being asked to explain complex issues in fast-moving public conversations. This month, I’ve been thinking about how media engagement skills—like preparing talking points, responding to misinformation, and communicating clearly under pressure—can help strengthen public trust in science.

    Across the AAAS community, SciLine resources are helping researchers and subject-matter experts become more confident and effective in media interviews and public-facing communication. These skills are especially important within the Local Science Engagement Network (LSEN), where accessible and accurate communication helps communities make informed decisions.
