Hi LSEN Community,
I wanted to share a new report from Science is US that you may find helpful.
Our latest economic impact study of U.S. employment data from all 50 states and the District of Columbia, Science at Work: The People and Industries Powering America's Prosperity, shows that over one third of Americans work in STEMM fields, account for 39.2% of GDP and generate $2.3 trillion in federal, state and local tax revenues. Most importantly, over half of our STEMM professionals do not have a bachelor's degree.
Science and engineering continue to be integral to America's economic prosperity, underpinning the very fabric of daily life, innovation, and growth across every sector and region of the nation. There are also many pathways to STEMM occupations across the education spectrum. It's a powerful reminder that science and engineering are everywhere and essential to our economy and daily lives.
Curious about where your state stands? You can view our full report and download specific State Spotlights here.
