What examples from the AAAS Annual Meeting show how scientific discoveries move across disciplines, sectors, and communities to address societal challenges?

As we reflect on the AAAS Annual Meeting and its focus on Science @ Scale, I've been thinking about what it really takes to move science from research to real-world impact.

In reviewing highlights from the meeting (AAAS 2026 Exhibitor Prospectus), one theme stands out: meaningful impact happens when science crosses boundaries-across disciplines, sectors, and communities. From collaborations that connect research with policy to partnerships that center community knowledge in scientific solutions, scaling science is not just about size; it's about connection.

Through the Local Science Engagement Network (LSEN), we have an opportunity to support this kind of cross-scale collaboration every day. When scientists, community partners, and decision-makers work together, research becomes more relevant, actionable, and trusted.

We'd like to hear from you:
Where have you seen science successfully move across scales-from local insight to broader impact? What partnerships made that possible?

Let's continue building connections that turn knowledge into action.
