    My name is Nancy Scales-Coddington, and I am a community manager for Science Near Me, a free nationwide directory of STEM opportunities supported by the National Science Foundation. I am reaching out to share more information about the platform and to see how we might partner to bring this free resource to your network. 

    Science Near Me, managed in partnership with the National Girls Collaborative Project, is a free, national hub of science opportunities including, citizen science projects, museum events, science festivals, out-of-school time programs, Maker Fairs, public science policy forums, astronomy clubs, science cafes, and more. We are currently seeking new partners to add their events and opportunities to Science Near Me. Partners will receive a small stipend, technical support, and resources to help connect events with the platform. 

    By joining Science Near Me, partners can enjoy the following benefits: 

    • A boost for your events and programs: Science Near Me features an abstract of your event with a link to your site and registration 

    • Leverage our content to build your own website as a local hub for science events and programs 

    • Using our infrastructure to organize your events and those of your own partners 

    • Gain access to data that shows what people are interested in nationally 

    • Connect with a regional and national community that shares the goal of providing engaging STEM opportunities

    Hi Nancy;

    I don't know if you have heard of Black Girls Code (https://www.wearebgc.org/) but they are an organization with a lot of activities on coding and tech that may want to work with you.

    Mission Graduates is a nonprofit organization that increases the number of K-12 students in San Francisco who are prepared for and complete a college education.

    ) is a program in SF that works to support kids in the public school system in the Mission district of San Francisco from pre-K through post-college graduation, and they might be interested in partnering. 

    Finally, I am at Genentech, and we have a strong STEM support program for local schools etc. I'm not sure how we could partner with you to get the word out about events, but I feel confident that there is a way.
