I am speaking at the event in Detroit, talking about science as a critical driver of economic success and prosperity. It's a story that needs to be told more often. Anti-science people simply don;t seem to care about the tremendious human cost of their actions but I find they can sometimes be persuaded by economic arguments - for example, the administration bringing back scientists it fired because they provide essential economic services.

    Hello Ana

I had talked at last year's SUFS in Chicago as an illegally-fired NSF program director.

This year's event organizers asked me to speak again, but I will be traveling to Washington DC for a science leadership workshop.

It may be too late, but if anyone here in the Chicago area is interested and has a compelling story, let me know and I could pass it on.
