I am currently an Independent Research Consultant, and my previous roles were in medical writing and research.

I'm a health research professional at my core, with an interest in science x policy x implementation. 

I'm looking to hear from folks who have transitioned from academia to industry, and industry to academia, about what their transitions looked like. How did you speak to your experiences in one field when you moved to another? How did you continue building toward your future goals when your current role may have been only somewhat aligned to where you saw yourself in the future?
