I am thrilled to report that AAAS launched a new learning platform today specifically for STEMM professionals. To help members and other scientists and engineers bolster their leadership, communications and public engagement skills and broaden the impact of their work, AAAS launched the AAAS Learning Hub at LearningHub.aaas.org today. "Crafting and Delivering Effective Presentations" and "Public Engagement with Science Essentials" are just two of courses you can take now, with more in development.

Hit Reply and let us know which course you plan to take first!

AAAS created the platform in response to member requests for career development resources, especially on topics related to engaging in their communities. With on-demand courses and live online learning events, the Learning Hub is created by experts for all types of STEMM professionals no matter where they are in their careers and wherever they live. The Learning Hub is optimized for accessibility and some of the resources and courses are offered free to non-members, for example "Leading with Empathy on Science Communication."

Thank you for creating this colorful access page for AAAS public engagement courses.  Public engagement is important not only to the STEM community but to our nation as a whole.

I have begun taking the Public Engagement and Science Essentials course.

May I suggest that the introduction to each course state how long a typical person needs to complete the course.  If well over an hour, please break the course into segments.

    Hi Brendan,
Thank you so much for the feedback and for diving into the Public Engagement and Science Essentials course! I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.
Your suggestion about adding estimated completion times and breaking longer courses into smaller sections is really helpful. We'll definitely keep this in mind as we continue improving the learning experience.
There are also short evaluations built into the courses, so if anything else comes up as you work through the modules, we'd love to hear it there too. And of course, feel free to share directly with me any other thoughts anytime, your experience really helps us shape these resources for our members' needs!
