American Society for Engineering Education’s Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon for LGBTQ+ in STEM Representation

In celebration of National Coming Out Day (October 11, 2021), ASEE is organizing a Wikipedia edit-a-thon on Friday, October 8 to elevate profiles and visibility of notable scientists who are underrepresented on Wikipedia.

Here’s how you can help:  

1. Nominate yourself or a deceased scientist who has publicly identified as LGBTQ+ and either does not have a Wikipedia page yet or whose page is incomplete. These submissions will be shared with the ASEE Edit-A-Thon editors who may select your suggestion to update Wikipedia! Please submit nominations to this form no later than September 28, 2021.  
2. If you’re an existing Wikipedia editor, consider volunteering on October 8 between 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. ET to help research and build Wikipedia profiles. Register here to receive more information.
