Associated with  Women in STEM

The following is a re-post from @Ireti Eni

Hello Women in STEM and allies, it's time for another digital Women in STEM event. I'm pleased to announce that this month we will be having an informal Zoom meetup with Theresa Harris who is the Project Director in AAAS' Scientific Responsibility, Human Rights and Law Program (SRHRL).

Theresa manages SRHRL's projects on science and human rights, including On-call Scientists, a volunteer referral service that provides technical support for human rights organizations; the Science and Human Rights Coalition network of scientific associations and societies, activities that promote greater understanding of the human right to science; and a new project on artificial intelligence and human rights. Prior to joining AAAS, Theresa represented survivors of human rights violations before United States courts, the Inter-American human rights system, and United Nations human rights mechanisms. She has served on the Board of Directors of Amnesty International USA and is a member of the governing body of the World Organization Against Torture (OMCT). Ms. Harris holds degrees in anthropology, land use planning, and law and is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

Please join us to discuss the intersection of human rights and women's rights in STEM fields with Theresa on June 23 at 1 pm Eastern (10 am Pacific). You can register for the event here. If you'd like to share a question or thoughts about this first informal Zoom meetup, you can add to this thread.
