AAAS LSEN Webinar: Informing Utah Policy with Science using the Honest Broker Approach
Science has never been more important for informing sound policy and ensuring progress. For decision-making at the state level, this can be especially true for lawmakers, such as those in Utah, who only meet part-time and don't have many permanent staff to help with research. Scientists can engage with the policymaking process in a variety of ways to bridge the science-to-policy gap. In this exclusive AAAS Local Science Engagement Network (LSEN) training for scientists and engineers based in Utah, we will talk about the 'Honest Broker' approach to informing policy with science and discuss the benefits of this strategy when engaging on climate and environmental issues in Utah. The training will be facilitated by Dr. Rachel Owen, founder of MOST Policy Initiative and nationwide advisor for state-level science policy efforts. We invite you to register for the event and stay in touch on the latest happenings with LSEN in Utah by interacting with the Utah LSEN Community.
