Virtual #SciEngage Meeting (April 2019): Reporting out from the 2019 AISL PI meeting

Jamie Bell, Melissa Ballard and others from the Center for the Advancement of Informal Science Education (CAISE) will report out on the recent NSF Advancing Informal STEM Learning (AISL) program Principal Investigator meeting. The AISL PI meeting is different from many professional conferences in that it brings together projects that are approaching the design and research of informal STEM learning and engagement experiences in a wide variety of settings including museums and science centers, zoos, aquaria and nature centers, festivals and events, citizen science and afterschool programs and all manner of media. CAISE staff will share some of the topics, challenges and opportunities raised when this community comes together, and examine how others might use the outputs from this meeting and portfolio of work to inform the development of new, evidence-based ideas, projects and proposals.
