Virtual #SciEngage Meeting (August 2019): NPR Scicommers

On Friday August 16^th at 12 PM EDT, join us for our monthly SciEngage discussion as we hear from NPR Science correspondent Joe Palca and producer Maddie Sofia, organizers of NPR Scicommers (formally known as Friends of Joe's Big Idea).

NPR Scicommers is a community of scientists and engineers interested in improving their science communication skills. Having interacted with many scientists and engineers who wanted to become better communicators, Joe started the group in 2012 in an effort to tell stories about the processes of science and invention. Joe and Maddie will share their experiences working with NPR Scicommers and describe some of the current initiatives that help individual Scicommers become better connected with each other, develop science communication related skills, and provide advice on career development.
