The NSF broader impacts requirement mandates that grant proposals include a description of how the technical research being supported will be disseminated to and shared with the wider community. For five years, the National Alliance for Broader Impacts (NABI) has been at the core of efforts to grow, connect and strengthen the community of Broader Impacts professionals who shepherd these projects. Through its efforts, NABI has helped to inspire and codify a fully blossomed field of study that has resulted in the development of scores of amazing projects and the professionalization of the involved personnel.
To support NABI, the new Advancing Research Impact in Society (ARIS) Center will “advance the practice of translating scientific research to the public through education, outreach, training and community engagement.” On FRIDAY FEBRUARY 1 at 11:30 AM EST, join members of the ARIS steering committee for a live discussion of their plans for the Center and new ARIS initiatives (including the ARIS Fellowship Program), as well as upcoming Broader Impacts Summit.
