The next few months may be the most important ever for American science, with vital funding decisions that could affect the enterprise for generations to come. As Congress heads into August recess, this is a powerful time to connect with your local, state, or federal elected officials, share your expertise, and build lasting relationships through district-based conversations.

To help you prepare, we hosted the LSEN Community Learning Forum on July 30, Effective Meetings with Lawmakers at All Levels. @Rachel Owen shared step-by-step guidance on preparing for and leading meetings with policymakers, and @Gwendolyn Bogard highlighted stories from LSEN members who have successfully engaged with elected officials in their districts.

Missed it? The recording, slides, and resources are available in the LSEN Library.
Already met with a policymaker? Share your experience in this quick survey, we'd love to hear how it went and what you learned.
